The Dinner Club was created by Chef Matthew Baldridge along with artist Janna Coumoundouros and gallery owner and musician Derek John, each bringing their own flavor to the collaboration. Matt's been a chef in the city of Detroit for 15 years including executive chef of Cliff Bells, chef de cuisine at Rattlesnake Club, and executive chef at Seldom Blues. He also worked side by side with James Beard award winning chef Jimmy Schmidt at The Rattlesnake Club. He has French influences in his menu creations with a modern twist and also  works with local growers and urban farmers to develop the best cuisine possible based upon the season. 

 

Janna, owner of Lilacpop Studio is a professional artist and photographer and will be showing her artwork at the gallery during the first dinner and will be curating art exhibits for future dinners along with gallery owner Derek John.

 

Derek is a musician, producer, and independent film maker guaranteeing a good soundtrack playing during dinner as well as some fun audio visual flare, such as old movies playing via projector on the wall.

 

"Dining is not only about sustenance, it's about the entire experience. It should be the food, drink, and the people you share this with. Then incorporate art, music, and great conversation and that is the experience we are striving to achieve with this dinner club,"  says Matt.  

 

The three aim to fill a void in the arts and entertainment community by providing something different and interesting to do on a Monday evening. This will be a communal dining experience with amazing food without all the pretentious attitude. 

 

Expect more pop up dinners around the metro Detroit area as well. The Dinner Club offers private parties, corporate lunches, themed parties, etc. We can customize the food, art on the walls, projector system, and music. We also have two large window spaces that can be utilized  to display art, models, etc.
